第1シリーズの最終回で、ホームズはビートン校を退学して社会に出ます。そして、彼はプロの探偵になろうとします…いや、そうは思いません。個人的に、また学校に戻るのではと思います。なぜか？第一にホームズは15歳で、自らの人脈を作るには若すぎるでしょう。第二に、本物の探偵となるには科学やその他の学問をもう少し学ぶ必要があります。第三に、彼を取り巻く人々の大部分がビートン校の生徒または教師です。それゆえ、いずれにしてもこのシリーズの舞台はビートン校とならざるをえません。もちろんこの夏の放送分も楽しみですが、これはホームズの退学前の設定です。その後に、『空家の冒険』をベースにした作品から始まる新シリーズもNHKに作ってほしいです。

In the final episode of the First Series, Holmes leaves school and goes out into the world. Then, he tries to become a professional detective...no, I don't think so. I personally think that he will return to school again.Why? Firstly, he is fifteen-year-old and may be too young to build up his own network. Secondly, it needs more knowledge of science and other studies to become a real detective. Thirdly, most of people around him are pupils or teachers of Beeton School. Therefore it is natural that the series should be set in the school. Needless to say, I look forward to watching new episodes next summer but they are based on the affairs before Holmes' leaving school. I would like NHK produce the series begins with the episode based on "The Adventure of the Empty House" after them also.
