ホームズとアイリーン、ピノキオと看病する妖精をちょっと連想させます。/Holmes and Irene who reminds me of the Fairy who nurses Pinocchio a bit.
In "15-year-old Holmes", I write about the relation between him and Pinocchio. According to the Japanese translation of "The Adventure of Pinocchio", there is something in common with each other indeed. First, both main characters are so-called trouble makers. Though Holmes being a pupil of boarding school and elder than Pinocchio, it's true that he sometimes behaves childishly though he usually acts like a grown-up.
The Fairy for Pinocchio corresponds to Irene Adler for Holmes. The Fairy does not always pay attention to Pinocchio and school nurse Irene Adler is not so devoted as Mrs. Hudson does to him. The relation of the boys and their "special women" is cooler than we think. But both the Fairy and Irene bear them in their mind.
And in the afterword of the translation, the translator Akira Ooka says that Pinocchio is no more a passive and inexperienced child by being reborn to a real boy. But it also means that he is not only a boy who enjoys his liberty but he should be responsible to everything and thoughtful also. Will Holmes change himself even if he comes back to Beeton School again?
And I'd like to add that both "The Adventures of Pinocchio " and "Sherlock Holmes"were finished once or twice but the sequel(s) was or were written to meet a demand of readers.

パペット版で物語の始まりの「子どもじゃない」というホームズから、最終話「僕たちは子どもだ」と変わりましたね。ピノキオのように自分たちが何者であるかを知り成長したのだと思います。
「子どもだ」というのは現代版『SHERLOCK』S3E2“3の徴候”でも、妊娠が分かったメアリーとジョンにシャーロックは「ボクの世話で親になる練習は積んだから、今度はボクはなくて本物の子どもの世話をして」と言います。アーチー君に「なんで、どうして」と質問攻めにされて普段の己を知ったりシャーロックの「子どもであったこと」につながっているんだなと思いました。
話は変わってピノキオと妖精は「ワンス・アポン・ア・タイム」S1のちょっとドジな妖精とドワーフの恋に似ているような気がしました。
