ビートン校の保健室には様々な側面があります。、「愉快な四人組の冒険」では、ここがトレジャーズの和解の場になります。『ボヘミアの醜聞』が原作の、「困った校長先生の冒険」では、ホームズがアドラー先生の様子を観察するために、仮病を使って保健室を訪れます。

また、『海軍条約文書事件』が原作になっている、「百匹のオタマジャクシの冒険」では、気絶したバーニコットが担ぎ込まれ、ホームズが彼に何があったのかを尋ねます。このエピソードでは、保健室はホームズとワトソンの、捜査について話し合うも行われます。保健室での張り込みを依頼するホームズに、アドラー先生は、ホームズ、ワトソン、そしてバーニコットに、保健室の鍵をなくしてしまったことを伝えます。無用心ではないかといわれても、ここには盗まれるようなものはない、生徒の殆どが仮病だから薬は置いていないのとの答え、ただし栄養剤として蜂蜜は常備されています。この蜂蜜は、原作のホームズの将来と大きなかかわりを持っています。

何はともあれ、アドラー先生は実に大胆です。

The nurse's office in Beeton School has many faces. In "The Adventure of the Cheerful Four", it's the place of reconciliation of the Treasures. And in "The Adventure of the Headmaster with Trouble" based on "A Scandal in Bohemia", Holmes visits the office using feigned illness to observe the behaviour of school nurse Irene Adler.

In "The Adventure of the One Hundred Tadpoles" based on "the Adventure of the Naval Treaty", Banicot faints and is carried to the office and Holmes asks him what happened to him there. In the episode, Holmes and Watson discuss about their investigation in the office. And Miss Adler tells that she lost the key of her office to Holmes who requests her to permit his stay in the room that night. Though being told that it's unsafe, she answers that nothing is stolen for there are very few kinds of medicine but honey as nutritional supplement. This "honey" is largely related to the future of Holmes in the canon.

Anyway Miss Adler is really a daring woman.
