Kōichi's new project is opposed by Genzō Tomishima, a managing director and is in charge of accounting. He knows that the third president of Kohaze-ya, father of Kōichi once made a pair of running shoes called "Rikuoh" that means the one who dominates the lands but failed. Even so, Kōichi acts positively and decides to use Haruyuki Iiyama's "shiruku rei" as sole of new Rikuoh. Though Tomoshima shows disapproval of Iiyama who made his company go into bankruptcy, Kōichi approaches Iiyama and then he asks Kōichi to make him one of the members of the project in return for using "shiruku rei". Then Daichi assists him though he is currently job hunting. He has no will of succeeding his father in the family business.
However, Tarō Sakamoto is transferred to Maebashi Branch of Saitoma Chuō Bank. It is him who told Kōichi about "shiruku rei" juse before he left Gyōda. His successor Hiroshi Ōhashi is severe on the project of Rikuoh.
Kōichi and Daichi plan to ask Hiroto Mogi, member of Daiwa Food's running team to support his activity by supplying Rikuoh. Because of the injury, he is not supported by Atlantis, a major sport company. Then Kōichi visits the ground of Daiwa Foods and hands him the shoes they developed but they are insufficient to support his run.
