He was born in 1849 in Satsuma domain. Though hie career until the end of the Tokugawa shogunate is unknown, he fought bravely in the Boshin War. After the Meiji Restoration, he became an officer of the Imperial Guards. But he was forced to commit hara-kiri when the Imperial Palace burned because he was in a geisha house at that time. But SAIGŌ Takamori stopped it and he reformed himself. When Takamori resigned his position and returned to Kagoshima in 1873, he also followed him and became a staff of Shigakkō.
He participated in the Satsuma Rebellion in 1877. He led his troop and attacked Kumamoto Caslte, the headquarter of the Government army. He was trusted by many of his comrades in arms and they were encouraged by his fight. He died on the 24th of September at the age of 29. He is said to have committed suicide or died in a battle against the Government army.
In this series, he is one of the fellows of Takamori. He accompanies Takamori to Shiroyama, the place of Takamori's death and then dies.
