Harunobu has a war council just after the funeral of his mother Ōi Fujin. He and his vassals argue how to attack MURAKAMI Yoshikiyo who ignored Harunobu's reconciliation. Obu Toramasa advises Harunobu to attack Yoshikiyo after the marriage of Yoshinobu and Aya however Kansuke insists that the marrige should be solemnised before the attack. He says that it enables winning over local samurais by allying themselves with the Takeda clan supported by IMAGAWA Yoshimoto.

Harunobu also understands how Toramasa feels. He who is a moriyaku of Yoshinobu tells Kansuke emphatically that the Takeda clan never oppose the Imagawa clan any more. In that year, Harunobu attacks Koiwadake Castle only but BABA Nobuharu who hopes to assault the castle in force is dissatisfied with it. He thinks using scheme profits newcomers as Sanada Yukitaka only, not those who serves the Takeda clan for a long time and their morale will be low. And he tells such an old vassal as MOROZUMI Torasada who does nothing but receive a stipend only should be blamed.


In August 1552, Koiwadake Castle falls and it weakens the Murakami Army. After that, both OBU Masakage and KASUGA Toratsuna, attendants of Harunobu became his vassals officially. On the 27th of November, the wedding ceremony of Yoshinobu and Aya is celebrated but Kansuke left Tsutsujigasaki while the party is going on. Then Denbei,Takichi and his son Mokichi offer him to drink more sake to celebrate the marriage but there appears Ritsu. She  often visits his house while he was absent. She then fills his cup and tells him that she loves you and his father admits it.


In Echigo, UESUGI Norimasa indulges himself in drinking and enjoying the dance of prostitutes but sits up straight when NAGAO Kagetora visits him. Norimasa asks him when he departs for Kozuke to beat the Hojo Army but he plans to visit Kyoto first. He plans to appreciate having granted his official rank and title to shogun and to accept an Imperial order to beat both the Hōjō and Takeda clans.
"Please be infatuated...no, please relax yourself until then, sir ",
says Naoe Sanetsuna coldly.

And in March 1553,  the Takeda Army corner their enemy but Toratsuna thinks it's better for them to pretend not to see MURAKAMI Yoshikiyo escape. Kansuke has the sama idea as him. Their enemy is not longer Yoshikio but Kagetora who is behind him. Yoshikiyo who is betrayed many of his vassals decides to escape to Echigo. He orders his son Kunikiyo to accompany his mother Tamanoi but he is told to protect his father by her. And Kansuke tells Harunobu even if Kagetora sends him a reinforcements, Kagetora  who values justice never invades northern Shinano Harunobu occupies.On the 9th of April 1553, Yoshikiyo with some of his vassals depart for Echigo.

KASUGA Toratsuna  ignores them intentionally but BABA Nobuharu lie in ambush for Yoshikiyo's party but there appear Tamanoi and her maids includes Hisa. They commit suicide in front of them. But Hisa who is pregnant hesitates to do so because she promised with Heizō to die together. Then Nobuharu approaches her and realises she is YAZAKI Jūgorō's daughter and asks her whether the child is Heizo's or not. He orders her to leave there but she remembers that he is former KYORAISHI Kagemasa who stayed in  Suwa as spy and spits at him.


When she returns to Katsurao Castle, she looks absent-minded and tells Heizo about the death of Tamanoi. But he tells her that Kagetora supports them. Kagetora sends the troops of KAKIZAKI Kageie and Okuma Tomohide and Yoshikiyo restores the power for a while. However, soon after the defeat of him becomes certain. It's time that Vaisravana of Echigo, the first battle of Kawanakajima is coming.
