TOKUGAWA Nobuyasu was a heir of Tokugawa Ieyasu. He was born in March, 1559 and became a hostage of the Imagawas but soon moved to Okazaki Castle.
After the Battle of Okehazama in 1560, his father Ieyasu (MATSUDAIRA Motoyasu at that time) allied himself with ODA Nobunaga and he married Toku hime, daughter of Nobugnaga when he was nine years old. He became the lord of Okazaki Castle after Ieyasu moved to Hamamatsu.
He participated in some battles includes the Battle of Nagashino in 1575. But in 1579, he was forced to move to Horie Castle and then Futamata Castle. Then he was ordered to commit hara-kiri there and was buried in Wakamiya Shrine in Okazaki.
According to a theory, he was a violent man and it makes Nobunaga, father of Toku hime feel unhappy. But there is another theory that he was on bad terms with Ieyasu and that's why he executed him however he regretted it later. Ieyasu was succeeded by Hidetada who was born between him and his concubine Saigo no Tsubone finally.
In this series, he is described as an honest and brave man and is pleased with his parents, especially his mother Sena (Tsukiyama Dono).
