Sen was the eldest daughter of TOKUGAWA Hidetada and his wife Go. She married her cousin TOYOTOMI Hideyori in her childhood. But she escaped from Osaka Castle under the orders of her grandfather TOKUGAWA Ieyasu during the Summer Campaign of the Siege of Osaka.
After returned to Edo, she married HONDA Tadatoki who ruled Kuwana Domain and then Himeji Shinden Domain. But in 1626, deaths of some her family members made her return to Edo again. She became a nun and named herself Tenjuin. In 1643, she rebuilt the buildings of Tokeiji Temple in Kamakura. She influenced O-oku, a kind of harem in Edo Castle where shogun's wife, concubines and their maids lived. She died in 1666.
In this drama, she is described as a young noblewoman who looks so happy with Hideyori. But she secretly hopes to return to Edo and is so pleased when she meets her grandfather and father at the headquarters of Ieyasu in the Siege of Osaka.
