SANADA Daisuke Yukimasa was a son of SANADA Nobushige (Yukimura), nephew of SANADA Nobuyuki and grandson of SANADA Masayuki. SANADA Noshuyoshi and Nobumasa, sons of Nobuyuki were his cousins.
He was born between Nobushige and his wife, daughter of OTANI Yoshitsugu in Kudoyama, Kishu, current Wakayama where Masayuki, Nobushige and his family members were exiled. In 1614, he followed his father and participated in the Siege of Osaka. In the Summer Campaign in 1615, he rendered services in the Battle of Domyoji but was commanded to stop TOYOTOMI Hideyori making peace with the Tokugawa's army. As the Toyotomis' defeat was likely, he was told to go out of Osaka Castle but he followed Hideyori in death. Like his father, he was rumoured that he escaped to Satsuma after the fall of Osaka Castle.
In this drama, he participates the siege with his father and HOTTA Sakubei. In the Summer Campain, he is injured and Nobushige makes him return to Osaka Castle and asks for Hideyori to enter the war but Okura kyo no Tsubone furiously stops it. He finally shares the same fate with his lord Hideyori, Yodo Dono (Chacha), and the vassals of the Toyotomi clan.
