In Japan, spectrum auction will be adopted soon at last and the broadcasting system will be reformed accordingly. Especially commercial broadcasters who don't keep Broadcast Act and often broadcast so-called fake news recently won't be regarded as broadcasters but moving pictures distribution service such as Netflix, Hulu and so on. This is a drastic measure for Japanese TV system.

Though NHK is not included this time, the system of the public broadcasting should be  reconsidered because some programmes are deteriorated. And those who collect viewing fee are severely criticised by viewers because of their horrible attitudes.

However, this reform will make more foreign companies enter the Japanese market so I am afraid that decrease of typical Japanese programmes, such as jidaigeki in the future. I'm going to write about it to the official residence of the prime minister.

I will write about it again as soon as I get any new information.

上杉政虎と名を改めた景虎が、成田長泰に暴行を加え、諸将が引き上げて上杉も相模から退きます。いよいよ上杉と武田の直接対決が始まろうとしていました。また香坂虎綱は、リツとの結婚を承諾します。

関東を平定し、上杉の名跡を継いだ政虎（景虎）は、武田が海津城を築いたことを知る。その政虎は家督継承後、自分の行列を馬上から見ていた成田長泰に腹を立て、暴行を加えていた。その挙句、成田は他の関東の諸将と共に、政虎の陣から兵を引き上げてしまっていた。しかも人質である妻の伊勢は、人質として留め置かれたままだった。

成田は自分にも伊勢にも無礼を働いたと政虎は怒る。しかし伊勢は、夫が上杉を裏切った報いなら受けるが、無礼の報いは受けぬと言う。夫の祖先もその昔、源義家と馬上で例を交わしており、諸将は裏切ったのではなく見限ったのだと断言する。さらに伊勢は、神仏を敬う貴方様がかくも人の心に無知であるのか、天罰などと言っても所詮は人間の驕りと、強い言葉を政虎に投げつける。

政虎は伊勢を斬ろうとする柿崎景家を止め、伊勢の言葉を自らへの戒めと受け取った。そして武田の動きを知り、関東を引き上げる。伊勢は忍城へ送り返した、それは成田が北条につくのを防ぐためでもあった。そして永禄4（1561）年5月、割ヶ嶽城は落ちるが、原虎胤が負傷して行方不明になる。そして伝兵衛は内応者を募った功績として、黄金3すくいを受け取ることになる。

小田原城では上杉が引き上げたこともあり、酒宴が催されていた。これも武田のおかげと言う清水吉政に、武田もいずれは敵となることもあると氏康。そして、焼けていた二枚貝を見ながらこう言った。
「よく焼けぬ貝（甲斐）、よくよく食えぬ男よ」
その頃真田幸隆は、川中島の戦のことを忍芽に話していた。あの相手に謀略では戦えぬと言う幸隆。その時河原隆正が訪れ、長野業正が亡くなったことを知らせる。

勘助は、香坂（春日）虎綱にリツを引き合わせる。最初は互いに乗り気でなさそうだったが、結局香坂がリツを気に入る。ただし山本家を継ぐのをためらっており、ならば男子が何人か生まれたら、一人に山本家を再興させるということに落ち着く。そして越後では、政虎が甥の卯松（後の景勝）に習字を教えていたが、それを見ていた桃姫は、弟に何かの変化があったのに気づく。政虎に言わせれば、それは慈愛だった。

さらに矢崎家では、平蔵が出陣が決まったと言って戦支度をさせる。必ず戻って来るようにと夫を説得するヒサ。そして永禄4年8月14日、上杉軍は出陣するが、平蔵は今一つうかぬ表情でいた。そして狼煙でこれを知った晴信は、家臣を集めて策を練る。海津城は危ういかと訊く晴信に、勘助は答えた。
「されど、海津城は落ちませぬ」

慈しみ、慈愛といった言葉が出て来る回ですが、ありがちな女性主人公の大河のように、それのみが前面に出て来ないところには好感が持てます。しかし景虎改め政虎の、卯松に対する姿勢が変わったというのには、多分に伊勢の言葉も影響しているように見えます。

それから勘助がリツを香坂に引き合わせるシーン、リツは自分の城だから、リツを見れば自分の奥義がわかると言って、香坂が首をひねります。何やら苦し紛れの会話ですが、この手の会話に慣れない勘助としては、何とかうまくまとめた方でしょうか。しかし香坂は、勘助がどうこう言うよりも、リツの持つ雰囲気にほだされたようです。川中島の戦いが始まるまでは、めでたしめでたしだったのですが…。

そして上杉軍撤退後、北条氏康が酒宴を催すシーン。清水吉政が「今宵はよろしいのでは」というのは、もちろん北条家では酒は朝に嗜む物だったからですね。しかしこの
「焼けぬ貝かな」
のシーン、結構好きです。その後氏政と氏康が2人で舞うシーンもいい。とにかくこの『風林火山』では、今川家でもところどころ舞のシーンが登場しますが、如何にもこの時代を表していていいものです。

放送は既に終わりましたが、こちらはもうしばらく続きます。長尾景虎の関東平定ですが、当然北条はいい顔をしません。最終的には小田原城に籠城し、しかも長尾方の補給路を断つ作戦に出たため、北条の勝ち戦に終わります。後年、豊臣秀吉が小田原攻めを行った時、北条は同じ籠城策に討って出ます。しかし景虎の時とでは、如何せん人数が違い過ぎました。しかし武田、北条、上杉というと、かの沼田錠を巡る争いを思い出します。あの時猪俣邦憲が名胡桃城を襲撃したりしなければ、またその後の歴史は変わっていたのでしょうが。

そして武田とはと言えば、北信濃を撹乱する作戦に出ます。北信濃というのは、常に武田の標的となりかねない地域であり、これで揺さぶりをかけたわけですが、しかし伝兵衛と葉月が晴れて夫婦になる、その発端となった戦でもあるわけです。縁談と言えば、海津城が完成しつつあり、その城主になる春日虎綱に、勘助は嫁を迎えないか、つまりリツをもらえと言い出すわけです。無論これは創作ですし、実際は養父香坂筑前守の娘と結婚していて、息子を3人儲けますが、その二男が『真田丸』に登場した春日信達です。そういえばあの中では、海津城の庭に百日紅の木がありましたが、あるいは勘助があれを植えるように命じたのでしょうか。

さらに景虎は、上杉の名跡を継ぎ、上杉政虎と名乗るようになります。前の管領様も大抵に遊び好きではありましたが、新管領様はこれまたどこか不思議な人物ではありました。しかし前管領の上杉憲政は、政虎（後に輝虎）没後に起きた御館の乱で処刑されてしまうわけで、この人物がもう少し前の時代に生まれていたら、北条におびえることもなく、結構波乱はあったものの、管領として一生を終わることができたでしょう。管領という、如何にも中世的な官職の終焉と同時に、大名としての上杉の栄華もまた、終わりを迎えつつありました。これも『真田丸』で上杉景勝が、信玄公の昔にと言っていたのを思い出します。

After defeating the Kiso clan, Kansuke returns to Osaka Kannon-in where Yu-u hime lived and finds Harunobu there. He says that he hold a polite funeral for her. Then he mentions his promise (of marriage) with her but Kansuke interrupts him and says that he hopes that Harunobu will govern Japan. Though he denies it, Kansuke asks him wait for a moment to go to Kyoto after beating NAGAO Kagetora as if he were the actual governoe of Japan already.


Harunobu brings the flute that Sanjo Fujin gave Yu-u hime brings to Kai. But she tells her husband that he should posses it and asks him about Shirō. He answers that he will be brought by a proper man. Harunobu thinks that  Kansuke will be gloomy for a while and as he says, he visits the tomb of Yu-u hime and promises to bring Shirō up to a brilliant samurai and make his win first battle.


And Kansuke says if it comes true, it's time he will exhaust his life span and will be with Yu-u hime again. After that Shirō and Shima move to Takatō Castle and Shirō is going to be educated by AKIYAMA Nobutomo, keeper of the castle. Kansuke offers Shima to serve him but she hopes to devote the rest of her life to Shirō. She thanks Kansuke to have given attention to Yu-u hime and makes sure that he should keep the promise with her.


In Echigo, some local rulers have territorial disputes and it involve the vassals of Kagetora. such disputes cause the rivalry between the two factions, those who formerly served the Uesugi clan and the others who served the Nagao clan. OKUMA Tomohide, who served Uesugi Norimasa before shows his anger but is warned by USAMI Sadamitsu. Kagetora remembers that his mother said that a real strong man needs no power when he became a boy monk in his childhood. After that he goes out of Kasugayama Castle. His elder sister Momo hime, wife of Nagao Masakage tells Sadamitsu and NAOE Sanetsuna that for Kagetora, his mother is the one and only existence whom he could trust.
 

Kansuke goes to somewhere also. He sends Harunobu a letter that says he wants to have a leave and then he visits Muryō Kōin Temple in Mt. Kōya where he visited before serving the Takeda clan. But at the same time, Kagetora also visits there because he was given his Buddhist name Sōshin before. That night Kansuke approaches kagetora who chants sutra and they fight each other but was scolded heavily by Sei-in, chief priest of Muryō Kōin. he shows a Mandala, a Buddhist visual schema of the enlightened mind and explains the importance of harmony to them. It reminds Kansuke of the relationship between lord and his vassals.


On the following day, they have breakfast together. Kansuke tells him that the death of Yu-u hime made him visit Mt.Koya and then they talk about the dispute of Kai and Echigo. However, if Kagetora defeats Harunobu, it's meaningless why he becomes a priest. Kagetora smiles wryly and says that he worries about it. And then Masakage and Sanetsuna with some attendants visit Kagetora with the vows of the vassals and ask him to return to Echigo. Kagetora learns that Tomohide starts a riot against Sadamitsu. He decides to go back and tells Kansuke who observes them secretly.  
"Tell your lord that I found an another enemy."


Kansuke returns to Kai also and tells Harunobu and Hara Toratane that he wants to adopt Ritsu. They agree with it and Harunobu shouts,
"Yu-u, alow Kansuke to do so."
Kansuke introduces Ritsu to Denbée, Takichi and his family and hands her a wooden box he was given at Muryō Kōin. There is a statue of Marici in it.

それから訃報です。元オールブラックスのディラン・ミカ氏が、45歳で亡くなられました。ミカ氏はスーパーラグビーや、トップリーグのコカ・コーラでプレー経験もある選手でした。合掌。

She was born as O-Ichi, daughter of SHIMAZU Tadatake who was the head of the Imaizumi Shimazu clan. Later she was adopted by Shimazu Nariakira and called herself Shimazu Atsuko (Atsu hime).

In 1856, she was then adopted by KONOE Tadahiro and married  YOKUGAWA Iesada who was a shogun at that time. However, her husband died in 1858 and Nariakira also died in the same year. Then she was tonsured (*) and was called Tenshō-in. After the death of Iesada, Iemochi succeeded him and he married Proncess Chikako (Kazunomiya). Though she was in discord with Kazunomiya, they reconciled later. But she disagreed with HITOSIBASHI Yoshinobu, the last shogun who succeeded Iemochi.

It is said that her marriage was used to make Yoshinobu succeed Iesada, but there is another view now. Why she married Iesada is said to share good luck of TOKUGAWA Ienari, the 11th shogun who lived long and had many children between his wife Kōdai-in from the Shimazu clan.

She was given jusanmi, Junior Third Rank when she became Tenshō-in. Just after the Meiji Restoration, she was deprived of the rank but was given it again after her death. And Ikushima, her lady-in waiting served her well. She made Tokugawa Iesato who was supposed to succeed Yoshinobu as the 16th shogun study abroad. 

In this series, she is described as an innocent young woman but later prepares herself for the marriage with Iesada. And she cooperates with Kichinosuke to get over a difficulty.

（*）When a woman was tonsured at that time, she didn't shave but cut her hair short.

The marriage of Atsu hime and TOKUGAWA Iesada decides formally. But Iesada is a man who is emotionally unstable and eccentric. And Shimazu Nariakira happens to see II Naosuke who tries to make TOKUGAWA Yoshitomi, later Iemochi shogun so he opposes Nariakira or MATSUDAIRA Yoshinaga. Naosuke says sarcastically if a tozama daimyo (*) becomes the father-in-law of next shogun, it will be almost as scary as foreigh ships. And he also tells him to take care of himself in a meaning manner.


In Satsuma domain's residence in Shiba, Nariakira's heir Torajumaru faints after having a sumo match against Kichinosuke and dies soon after. All of Nariaki's children are dead but he has no time to mourn them because he plans to meet Yoshinaga, Tokugawa Nariaki and HItotsubashi Yoshinobu. Besides he establishes Shūeikan project to promote new industries and tries to make cannons.


Kichinosuke and his friends rumour that Torajumaru was killed by O-Yura also. Then Kichinocuke notices that somebody eavesdropped their conversation. And O-Yura is sick of such rumour. This is informed to Satsuma and many samurais includes Ōkubo Shōsuke but he tells them not to start a riot now. One day he is ordered to search the record of Takarajima Jiken in the record office of Tsurumaru Castle.This is a trouble between Satsuma domain and British Forces and Hisamitsu hopes to check it in case of an emergency. Then Shosuke tells him about the death of Torajumaru and many samurais who serve the domain fear the reappearance of O-Yura sōdō and asks him to control the domain. Shōsuke doesn't give his name but says it's the consensus of samurais of Satsuma.


In the residence in Shiba, Nariakira has a party and invites Nariaki, Yoshinobu and Yoshinaga. There is a unspoken agreement among the members except Yoshinobu to make him next shogun. Though Atsu hime is going to marry Iesada, it's impossible to have a child between them and Kichinosuke, who listens to them realises why she will be unhappy as Nariakira told him. Yoshinobu has no will of becoming a shogun and says it's imprudent to have such a party just after the death of Torajumaru. He leaves there and goes to Isodaya as usual. After the party, Nariakira becomes ill and is unconsciousness for three days. Kichinosuke prays to god for his recovery and suspects that somebody poisoned his food when he catches a glimpse of the kitchen.


Despite being warned by a doctor, Nariakira restarts his project. Then Kichinosuke takes a piece of grilled fish from his table and tell him not to eat anything on the table. He hurries to Isodaya to meet Hashimoto Sanai and learns that arsenic (**) gets mixed with the fish. Hī-sama, Hitotubashi Yoshinobu who is with them says that if he takes a power, there will be a possibility that he is assassinated and politics is only for those who are curious. At that moment, Kichinosuke feels something mysterious in the next room. He opens the door and finds a masked man who pretends to be drunken but he has no smell of sake.


Kichinosuke chases the man who tried to make Sanai as hostage but he misses him. He thinks it's the plot of Narioki and goes to the residence in Takanawa but he has nothing that proves that he did it. Narioki, who is angry with it blames him that Nariakira is hated by many people. he returns the residence in Shiba gets a good scolding from Nariakira who knows he visited Narioki. He who is still unsteady on his feet says that he should do many things even they cost his life. He then tells Kichinosuke that he can cost his life for him also because he is honest to fault like him and that's why he employs him.

At the residence of Hikone domain, II Naosuke learns that Nariakira recovers and many people try to kill him from his right-hand man NAGANO Shuzen. He also tells him that Yoshinobu always visits Isodaya. And the masked man chased by Kichinosuke sits behind Shuzen.

(*)  A daimyo who didn't serve the Tokugawa clan before the Battle of Sekigahara. Especially, the Shimazu clan was the enemy of the Tokugawa clan in the battle.
(**) At that time, the Japanese didn't use silver tableware.
